Khabib justifies McGregor brawl: 'Eagles don't belong in the cage'

Russian UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov addressed his fans at Anzhi Arena in Kaspiysk on Monday, after returning home to the Russian Republic of Dagestan from Las Vegas, where he defeated Conor McGregor in UFC 229. Nurmagomedov demonstrated his championship belt and thanked everyone for support by saying: "The biggest inspiration I was getting was from my homeland, from Dagestan, and from all the fans that were waiting for me here." The athlete also commented on the brawl which occurred immediately after the fight. "I told the UFC: On October 6, when the cage will be closed up, I will not be responsible for myself anymore. And what happened after the fight, some people say it was wrong, some people say it was right, but I would say - eagles don't belong in the cage."
