Army secures exit of hundreds of civilians from terrorist –controlled areas

Hundreds of civilians, most of them women and children returned from areas where terrorist organizations are positioned via al-Salihiya crossing in Deir Ezzor and Abu al-Douhour crossing in Idleb countryside within the government’s efforts to secure the return of the displaced Syrians .

On November 30th , hundreds of civilians , mostly women and children were exited with their cars and private properties via al-Salihiya crossing in Deir Ezzor province , in cooperation with the Syrian Arab Army and Russian Reconciliation Center, adding that medical care was also provided to tens of civilians there.

On the same day , hundreds of civilians, most of them women and children, were also evacuated along with their cars and personal properties from the de -escalation zone area in Idleb province, in coordination with the Syrian Arab Army and the Russian Reconciliation Center.

The authorities concerned had received the displaced returnees and provided them with necessary facilitations , food and medical aid before they were transported to their villages and towns.

Russian servicemen assist prisoner swap in Syria

Russian servicemen in Syria assisted a prisoner swap that took place near the city of Aleppo on Saturday, the head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Opposing Parties in Syria, Sergei Solomatin, said.

"Near the settlement of Tadef [35 km northeast of Aleppo], 10 Syrian citizens captured by illegal armed groups were swapped for 10 armed opposition militants," Solomatin said.

According to the official, the swap was organized with the assistance of Russian Defense Ministry officials within the Working Group on release of detainees/abductees, handover of bodies and search for missing persons. The working group operates within the framework of the Astana format.

Representatives of Turkey, Iran and the Syrian Arab Red Crescent were also present during the handover.

On July 30-31, Russia’s Black Sea resort of Sochi hosted the tenth meeting of the three guarantor nations of the Syrian ceasefire (Russia, Iran and Turkey), who agreed to launch a pilot project to help the parties to the conflict exchange lists of casualties, prisoners and missing persons.

Negotiations about the exchange of prisoners in Syria have long been conducted on various platforms. Outgoing UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura suggested creating such mechanism as early as in the spring of 2016. However, such efforts produced no result until recently.

[Graphic 18+] Several ISIS terrorists killed during Syrian Army’s operation to liberate hostages

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and their allies carried out a special operation to liberate the 19 civilians held hostage by the so-called “Islamic State” (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh) in the Palmyra countryside on Thursday. 

In coordination with the Russian special forces, the Syrian Army was able to locate the hideout used by the terrorist group to jail the hostages.

 Once the hideout was located, the Syrian Arab Army and their allies carried out an important operation to free the hostages from the terrorist group’s clutches. 

The operation would result in the liberation of 19 civilians, while two others were believed to have been killed by the terrorist group before the army could reach them. 

In addition to liberating the civilians, the Syrian Arab Army was able to kill several members of the Islamic State that were present at the terrorist hideout.

Russian official says Syria has right to use all weapons to defend country

The Head of the Defense Committee at Duma Council Vladimir Shamanov said on Tuesday that Syria has the right to use all of its weapons to defend the country and maintain its territorial sovereignty.

In a statement to journalists on Tuesday, Shamanov said that the Russian-supplied S-300 air defense system are highly protective and Syria has the right to use them in order to protect its national interests.

He noted that the Syrian soldiers have completed the training exercises necessary to use the S-300 missiles independently.

The Russian official did not specify whether or not Moscow will send more military advisers to instruct the Syrian Army on the use of the S-300 system.

Shamanov’s comments come shortly after the Mayor of Jerusalem said that Israel will attack the S-300 systems if Syria downs an Israel aircraft during an attack.

Video: US forces clash with Turkish backed forces in northern Syria

A US official confirmed coalition forces exchanged fire with armed groups on October 15 near Manbij as suspicions rise that they were Turkish-backed rebel factions.

“They [coalitions forces] received gunfire from undisclosed persons and returned fire, and it ended quickly, skirmish at best,” Army Colonel Sean Ryan, Spokesman for Operation Inherent Resolve (OIR), Said

“But we don’t know who fired and it was during a US-MMC [Manbij Military Council] patrol,” he added.

More than 122,000 terrorist facilities destroyed by Russian air force in Syria - Shoigu

Russian Aerospace Defense Forces have made over 40,000 flights, including 21,000 flight in the nighttime, over the course of the operation in Syria and delivered strikes at around 122,000 terrorist facilities, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu said.

"Over the course of military actions, strikes were delivered at around 122,000 terrorist facilities. Most militants were eliminated," Shoigu said. 

"We acquired extensive military experience in Syria, and we are ready to share it," he noted adding that peaceful life is being actively restored in Syria.

"As a result of concerted efforts of the Russian center for reconciliation of the conflicting sides, over 2,500 settlements from all over the country have already joined the reconciliation process," the defense minister said. 

Special attention is paid now to resolving humanitarian issues in Syria and assisting refegees in returning to their homes, he concluded.

Breaking: Syrian Army frees part of kidnapped civilians by ISIS in Suwayda

In a special operation carried out by the authorities concerned, a batch of women and children kidnapped by Daesh (ISIS) terrorists from al-Shabki village in Sweida eastern countryside since July 25^th were liberated.

Suwayda Governor Amer al-Ashi said in a statement upon receiving the liberated abductees at the Governorate’s building “upon directives of President Bashar al-Assad on hunting down terrorist organizations, our armed forces and the affiliated security apparatus tracked the remnants of terrorists in the depth of Suwayda eastern Badyia.”

“A lot of terrorists were killed during a military operation that lasted for more than 83 days while a number of the personnel of our heroic army were martyred or injured,” al-Ashi added

The liberated children are Ya’arub Jba’ai, Mulham Jiba’ai, Ghaida Jba’ai and Amwaj Jba’ai, in addition to two women Abeer Shaglin and Rasmyia Abu Ammar.

A number of the abductees expressed thanks to whoever participated in liberating them and ending their suffering to be able to return to their relatives, families and normal life, and they thanked the Syrian Arab Army for it sacrifices.

Russia supplied Syria with most ‘modernized’ S-300 system – report

Moscow has delivered advanced S-300 air defense missiles to Syria to protect the country’s troops deployed in the war-torn Arab country in the wake of last month’s downing of a Russian reconnaissance plane during an Israeli airstrike in Latakia.

The three battalion sets of S-300PM-2 air defense missile handed over to Syria by Russia are more advanced compared to their conventional counterparts, the newspaper Izvestiya wrote, citing Defense Ministry sources in Moscow.

The S-300PM-2 system is equipped with a more advanced radar station, an improved target illumination and guidance station (firing radar) and a mobile command post.

Launchers have also been upgraded enabling the use of more advanced, powerful and long-range missiles, compared to the “classic” S-300.

Unlike conventional S-300s, the modernized air defense system can fire medium-range tactical ballistic missiles, while retaining its ability to destroy aerial targets up to 250 kilometers (155 miles) away.

The S-300PM-2 also boasts improved anti-jamming capability allowing it to operate in conditions of electronic warfare.

Contrary to media reports, the S-300PM-2 currently deployed in Syria will not be operated by Iranians because the only specialists who can operate this system are in Russia, the source told the newspaper.

Several civilians killed & injured by terror attacks in Aleppo city

One civilian was killed , and material damage was caused to houses when terrorist groups positioned in southwestern countryside of Aleppo fired shells on residential neighbourhoods in Aleppo city.

The terrorists on Thursday evening fired a rocket shell on al-Sabil neighbourhood in Aleppo, killing one civilian and causing material damage to a number of houses.

Also, the terrorist groups attacked with a rocket shell al-Mokambo neighborhood , causing only material damage.

Units of the Syrian Arab Army have responded to the attacks by targeting the areas from which the shells were launched, inflicting heavy losses upon the militants in personnel and arms.

US drone allegedly seen spying on new Syrian S-300 system

According to the Arabic-language section of Russia Today, a U.S. RC-135V reconnaissance drone flew hundreds of kilometers to the Syrian coastal province of Latakia to spy on the S-300 system.

The report said that the U.S. drone took off from the Souda Airbase in the Greek island of Crete.

No other details were released.

The U.S. Coalition has not commented on Russia Today’s claim.

The Syrian military received the S-300 air defense system in early October after tumultuous exchange of hostilities with the Israeli Air Force resulted in the downing of a Russian IL-20 reconnaissance aircraft off the coast of Latakia.

US behind terrorists control of Euphrates bank in Syria - Russia

Terrorists have managed to establish complete control over a 20-kilometer territory on the Euphrates’ east bank in Syria due to the inaction of pro-American groups, chief of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Opposing Parties Vladimir Savchenko said on Monday.

"As a result of inaction of pro-American groups, ISIS terrorists have managed to establish complete control over a 20-kilometer strip on the Euphrates’ east bank between the settlements of Hajin and al-Susa," he said.

According to Savchenko, despite the United States’ statement on the defeat of Islamic State, militants still enjoy control over some of Syria’s territories and the US-led coalition and pro-American Kurdish groups of the Syrian Democratic Forces continue to simulate fighting against militants in the south of the Deir ez-Zor governorate.

Jihadists in Idlib buffer zone continue attacks against Syrian military: Russian MoD

The deadline for the jihadist rebels to withdraw from the Idlib buffer zone has expired and the militants are still inside this designated de-escalation area. 

According to the Russian Reconciliation Center, the jihadist rebels inside the Idlib buffer zone have continued their attacks against the government forces.

While the Russian Reconciliation Center did not specify where the attacks took place, pro-government activists in the northern countryside of the Hama Governorate have reported some militant activity within this part of the Idlib buffer zone.

The Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem has already issued a stern warning to the jihadist rebels in Idlib about not abiding by the Idlib agreement.

Muallem said this afternoon that the Syrian Armed Forces are already deployed near the front-lines and prepared for any action.

Syrian national flag hoisted over Golan Heights border as Quneitra Crossing reopens for first time in years

The Syrian national flag was hoisted over the Golan Heights border this afternoon, as the government announces the reopening of the Quneitra crossing.

The Syrian government recently decided to reopen the Quneitra crossing after restoring much of the area that was once controlled by the jihadist rebels.

Israel also agreed to reopen the crossing after a discussion with the Russian Ministry of Defense.

With the Quneitra crossing open to the public, several Syrians living in Golan Heights can visit their families on either side of the border.

Syrian army scores new advance against ISIS in south Syria

The military operations conducted by the Syrian Arab Army continued in the rocky cliffs adjacent to al-Safa hills in Sweida eastern Badyia (desert), tightening grip on Daesh (ISIS) remnants positioned in the area.

Syrian army units engaged in fierce clashes with Daesh terrorists in the western part of al-Safa hills, achieving new advance in the area and killing scores of them amid a state of collapse in their ranks.
Snipers were among the killed terrorists.

Also, the army’s artillery and warplanes carried out strikes against Daesh, killing scores of them and destroying their fortified points, hideouts, arms and munitions.
